January 16th Pippa and Andrew Chapman  Organic gardening - part 2

Local couple Pippa and Andrew Chapman, otherwise known as those plant people, will talk about their permaculture experiments on their organic small-holding in Steeton. The land is on a challenging north-facing slope of the Aire valley, shaded by large trees and hills. Andrew brings his Harlow Carr training to the fore to cope with the difficult conditions there. Pippa and Andrew have created a wildflower meadow, deep perennial border, as well as no-dig vegetable fields and forest understorey.

Garden designer Katie, from Bingley, has co-presented 'Love your garden' with Alan Titchmarsh; she is also known as the Queen of Spades
March 20th Matthew Wilson A tale of two gardens, Hyde Hall and Harlow Carr
Matthew is a garden designer, writer and broadcaster who presented Landscape Man on TV. He is director of Clifton Nurseries in London.
Admission free to members; non members £10. Tickets available on the door or from committee members.
Parking will be restricted due to building works; please arrive early and share transport if possible.

There will be a hanging basket demonstration and plant sale
May 15th PLANT SALE Bring your plants, cakes, garden produce, conserves to raise funds for next years guest speakers.
June 19th EVENING VISIT Garden visit to Land Farm, Edge Lane, Colden, Hebden Bridge, HX7 7PJ.
Make your own way there. If you need a lift, please get in touch with one of the committe members. Meet at 7.00 pm at the gardens. Admission £7 includes garden, art gallery and refreshments. Pay on arrival.

July 17th EVENING VISIT Coach trip to Littlethorpe Manor (Ripon)
Cost £16 pp includes coach travel and admission. Leaves Oxenhope at 5.30 pm prompt.
Only one or two seats still available (04-July). Contact committee for tickets.
August 2nd COFFEE MORNING Coffee morning and open garden (Saturday 11.00 am)

Timothy is director of Oxford University Botanic Garden
October 16th Chris and Susie Cox Clematis Through the Seasons.
The speakers from Taylors Clematis Nursery will give a talk about pruning, planting and propagation.
They will have plants for sale.
November 20th Neil Huntley My favourite Alpines
Hartside nursery garden (Alston). This family run nursery was established in 1975 and specialises in propagating, growing and selling some of the rarely offered hardy plants from around the world.
The wide range of old and new species and varieties includes Alpines, Primulas, Spring and Autumn Flowering Gentians, Rock Garden Plants, Woodland Garden Plants, Dwarf Conifers, Dwarf Rhododendrons and Hardy Ferns. Plants with altitude for everyone from the beginner to the specialist.
